In July, the family and I are taking a vacation to Hawaii. Since we have never been there, I thought it would be prudent to do a little research on the islands and develop some notes on what to do, what to bring, what to expect, etc.

There are a lot of sites that gave good information, but one stood out above all others.

This site if full of information and comes about as close to one-stop shopping as you can get. With links to everything like FAQ, Activity Suggestions (by activity type or by island), Reviews, and helpful hints like “Vacationing in Hawaii with Kids” or “Getting Engaged or Married in Hawaii” the sight met my needs splendidly. They do have prices and price ranges for a number of the activities, but do warn that those can change. I ended up with over 4 pages of notes just from this site.

There are some other information even if you aren’t going to Hawaii like Luau Food Recipes, How to Create a Luau anywhere, and fun things like Translate your name into Hawaiian.

The site also has a virtual ‘gift shop’ and an enormous amount of data like miles of coastline, types of beaches, the official flower of each island, and the ‘nicknames’ for all the islands.

The website is run, and I want to give appropriate credit to Mike and Kim Crinella.
