Life: Personality Doesn’t Match Your Career – Oh My!

The other day I was reading this post:

http://reinkefj.wordpress.com/2007/03/31/reinke-some-one-asked-what-the-heck-is-an-itsj-so-of-course-i-put-it-in-my-filing-cabinet/

which links to this site: http://similarminds.com/jung/enfj.html except I changed it to ENFJ which is what I am.

 Well bad news:

You see I’m a Managing Consultant ( Technology ) and consider myself a Technology Leader when asked.

But here is what it says are my favored careers:

Quote>>

casting directory, film critic, wedding planner, work in the performing arts, teacher (art, preschool, elementary), actor, fashion designer, news anchor, fashion merchandisier, school psychologist, broadcaster, stylist, interior designer, event coordinator, restarant owner, childcare worker, hair stylist, film director, counselor, dancer

End Quote

And here is what it says are my disfavored careers

Quote >>

race car driver, scientist, computer specialist, airline pilot, computer programmer, financial manager, epidemiologist, truck driver, electrical engineer, software designer, web designer, business consultant, dj, bookseller

End Quote

Now my dream has always been to be a High School Math Teacher and Baseball Coach, but I ended up as a programmer/dba/IT manager/IT Executive/IT-Business Consultant.  Urrgghhh! Just when I thought I was starting to figure this grown up thing out, I find out my life is just basically a waste of time and I’ll never be content!

Just kidding, actually I do think it’s interesting. Because when you look at what it says the traits are, I would think it’s pretty accurate.

Quote>>

outgoing, social, attention seeking, emotional, loving, organized, comfortable around others, involved, open, hyperactive, complimentary, punctual, considerate, altruistic, easily hurt, religious, neat, content, positive, affectionate, image conscious, good at getting people to have fun, easily excited, perfectionist, assertive, ambitious, leader, hard working, seductive, touchy, group oriented, anti-tattoos

End Quote

I have had all of the above ( except image conscious ) used to describe me within the last year.
