Oz, Never heard of Losing Scarlet, that’s oz. I happen to know of this local (for now) Chicago Band because the Bass Guitarist Scott (or Tiny) happens to be a long time friend of mine. Having been impressed by Tiny’s guitar playing for years, I am truly excited by the sound that this new band has come up with.
Coming off more mainstream than most of Tiny’s previous endeavors which tended to be much more of a metal sound, Losing Scarlet is in a regular rotation in my library. Their Myspace page has 4 singles on it.
My favorite of these is “Forsaken” -With a strong metal/hard rock sound at the start the band seems to show their roots in metal; but as the vocalist Jodi takes over, it quickly becomes a alternative rock sound with an stunning A Capella where she gets to show off her voice and range.
The Myspace page describes them here:
“Losing Scarlet formed in late 2007 and each member shares a unique diversity with one another. The five musicians have experience in the Chicago music scene that ranges from Metal, Punk, Rock and have come together to create a fresh sound. The music is heavy yet melodic and this band is definitely bringing something new to the table.”
Tiny promises me they are going to release a new Demo pretty soon, can’t wait to get my hands on it.

I have been to every one of their shows. They are at the top of their game. Only a four piece now, Losing Scarlet’s music gets better and better! They keep outdoing themselves with every song they write. This band will be at the top of the music industry in the near future. Everyone needs to take notice. You will not be dissapointed!
